01/11/2025, 12:43According to the press service of the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration, 1,223 ethnic Kyrgyz have been granted the status of kairylman for 2024.
The initiative is being carried out by an interdepartmental commission, which includes representatives of the GKNB, the Interior Ministry, the Ministry of Labour and the Population Registration Department of the Ministry of Digital Development. It takes about two months to process a request for status.
Since Kyrgyzstan gained independence, more than 70,000 ethnic Kyrgyz have migrated to its territory, of whom about 65,000 have already obtained citizenship. Last year, the status of kairylman was granted to Kyrgyz who came from such countries as Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, China, Russia, Turkey, Afghanistan and others.
Ethnic Kyrgyz with the status of Kayrylman have the right to claim benefits and pensions, receive medical and health care, education, employment assistance and lease agricultural land on an equal basis with Kyrgyz citizens in accordance with the Land Code.
