12/03/2024, 10:39In Jalal-Abad region, a criminal case was initiated for illegal mining of placer gold in the area of the Orto-Tokoy reservoir.
The prosecutor's office found out that a private person was developing four plots with a total area of 2.6 hectares. This was possible due to the lack of control by local authorities and officials of the reservoir. As a result, the fertile layer of pasture and irrigated lands was disturbed, and the damage to the state is estimated at almost 30 million KGS.
A criminal case has been initiated under the articles ‘Abuse of official position’ and ‘Spoilage of land’. The investigation is being carried out by the Department of State Committee for National Security in Jalal-Abad region.
