New high-voltage substations “Yntymak” and “Ak-Kula” were opened in Bishkek

Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev took part in the opening ceremony of two new high-voltage substations, Yntymak and Ak-Kula, built to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the capital's consumers.

The Ak-Kula substation, located in the area of the old hippodrome, will provide power supply to the districts of the hippodrome, Workers' Town, part of the Dzhal microdistrict and the houses under construction at the GIK. The substation has a 16,000 kVA power transformer, as well as gas-insulated circuit breakers, current transformers and disconnectors. As part of the project, a 110 kV transmission line Ala-Archa-Novo-Yuzhnaya-1 was also constructed.

This will unload the existing substations and reduce power losses.

The Yntymak high-voltage substation located in Orto-Sai village will provide power supply to the residents of the southern districts of the city. A 10,000 kVA power transformer has been installed at the substation and a transmission line “CHPP B - Parkovaya-2” has been built. It will also unload the existing substations and increase the reliability of power supply.
