In Bishkek, an inspection of the Orto-Sai Market led to dismissals and fines

A scheduled meeting chaired by Mayor Aibek Junushaliyev took place in Bishkek, at which the findings of the inspection of the Orto-Sai Market, carried out over the weekend, were reviewed.

According to the mayor, the condition of the area has deteriorated once again, despite the improvement works carried out over the course of the year. He noted a lack of oversight by the relevant authorities: unauthorised trading has resumed at the market, and its appearance has reverted to its previous state.

The mayor emphasised that one-off measures do not yield results without systematic oversight, and reminded managers of their personal responsibility for maintaining order.

Following the meeting, personnel decisions were taken. Kubandyk Akmatbekov, Head of the City Hall’s Organisational and Control Department; Zhanibek Orozaliev, Akim of the Oktyabrsky District; and Mairambek Adylbekov, First Deputy Akim, were relieved of their posts.

Disciplinary measures were imposed on a number of officials. Deputy Mayors Azamat Kadyrov and Ramiz Aliyev received reprimands. A reprimand was issued to Asylbek Uulu Bakay, Head of the municipal enterprise ‘Urban Road and Transport Infrastructure’, and to Mirlanbek Taalaybekov, Head of the Municipal Inspectorate.

In addition, an investigation has been launched into the suitability of the head of the Economics and Finance Department of the Oktyabrsky District Administration for his post.
