11/21/2025, 17:11In the village of Zhany-Zher, Sokuluk District, discussions were held on the implementation of a KOICA grant project to establish an agricultural processing centre to increase farmers' incomes and develop the region's export potential.
Today, Kyrgyz Agroholding JSC, representatives of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, as well as a KOICA delegation held a working meeting on the project. The delegation was led by the deputy director of the KOICA Representative Office in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The project, funded by a KOICA grant of $5-6 million, aims to develop the value chain for agricultural products. Key preparatory issues were discussed at the meeting: allocation of land, development of a feasibility study and a work schedule.
The KOICA representative emphasised that the agro-processing centre will become a model facility for the country's agricultural sector. Following the meeting, the parties agreed on joint actions and a clear coordination mechanism for the timely implementation of the project.
