10/07/2024, 11:21In his congratulatory speech dedicated to aviation workers President Sadyr Zhaparov announced plans to build a new international airport in Jalal-Abad Oblast.
The President noted that under the National Programme aimed to improve airport infrastructure, the reconstruction of regional airports Karakol, Kazarman, Kerben, Talas and Naryn has been completed at the expense of Manas Airport's funds.
"Shortly it is planned to resume flights to these airports, which will increase transport accessibility of the regions. The aircraft fleet is also being actively renewed with new aircraft,’ he said.
In addition, new air links with Kuwait, South Korea, Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia have been established in recent years, resulting in increased passenger traffic. These successes emphasise the active development of Kyrgyzstan's international ties.
"Manas International Airport has demonstrated significant growth. In 2023, its net profit was 6 billion KGS, a 52% increase compared to 2019, when the profit was 2.1 billion KGS. Such results reflect the successful development of infrastructure and attraction of international airlines,’ the President said.
