Casinos may be opened in "Ak-Keme" and "Dostuk" hotels. Today the Committee will consider the bill

Today the Budget Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh in the third reading will consider amendments to the law on licensing, proposed by the Cabinet. MP Dastan Bekeshev has informed it in social networks.

According to the new amendments, if an entrepreneur, for example, opens a public school or hospital and plans to open a branch, he will not need to obtain a new licence. Instead, he may request the addendum to an existing licence, specifying the type of activity and address of the new branch. However, Bekeshev expressed fears that these annexes could become additional permits, as is the case with the licences today.

"This could hinder entrepreneurs. There is a risk, and I am also afraid of that,’ MP emphasised.

Consideration of the amendments promises to be an important step in regulating business activities in the country, and many stakeholders are closely watching the situation.

In addition, the Cabinet has initiated a bill proposing to authorise the opening of casinos in hotels owned by state bodies and local governments. Among the proposed casino sites mentioned are the former Ak-Keme and Dostuk hotels. The bill will also be considered today.
