In Issyk-Kul oblast, works on restoration of canals after mudflows keep going on

The Water Management Department of the Issyk-Kul region is conducting regular restoration works after heavy rains, which caused damage to several canals. Sandy gravel blockage was formed on the inter-farm canal “Kumbel” in the village of Sadyr-Ake on the section of 9,700 meters. Currently, 7,200 meters have been cleared with the special equipment involvement and the work continues. The information is provided by the Minvodselprom press service.

Restoration works on the canals “2nd Western” and “3rd Eastern”, also located in the area, have been fully completed.

In Abdrahman aiyl district, cleaning works on the canals “5-East”, “2-East” and “2-West” have been completed, which allowed resuming the irrigation water supply. As a result of heavy rains, six canals and one gauging station were damaged.

In total, 10,650 meters of canals were filled with sand gravel, of which 8,150 meters have been cleaned. Restoration work is ongoing.
