10/04/2024, 09:40On 3 October 2024, the Kyrgyz-Italian Business Forum was held as part of the official visit of Sadyr Zhaparov to the Italian Republic.
The Kyrgyz side presented investment opportunities in agriculture, light industry, bottled water, banking and energy sectors.
The Italian side was represented by leading government organisations, including the Italian Trade Agency, the insurance financial group SACE, the National Institute for the Promotion of the Italian Economy Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, SIMEST, an organisation engaged in the internationalisation of Italian companies, and others.
Talantbek Imanov, Director of the National Investment Agency, stressed the steady pace of development of the Kyrgyz economy and the implementation of major international projects with the participation of foreign investors, including the construction of hydroelectric power plants, highways and modernisation of airports. He noted that the business forum was a unique opportunity for Italian investors and businessmen to familiarise themselves with the economic potential of Kyrgyzstan and discuss prospects for cooperation.
The forum also served as a platform for establishing new contacts and exchanging experience. From the Kyrgyz side, more than 50 participants and 40 companies took part, the Italian side was represented by more than 62 companies, which indicates a high level of interest in strengthening bilateral economic ties.
