The Cabinet of Ministers has highlighted the increase in the oil products production and significant development of other industries

Prime Minister Akylbek Zhaparov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet, where he summarised the country's socio-economic development for 9 months of 2024. The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reports about it.

The gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate was 8.4%. And without taking into account the  Kumtor deposit development enterprises - 9.7%. Significant growth was noted in the construction industry, where the growth rate was 36.9%.

Zhaparov stressed that the growth of industrial production was provided by an increase in the production of refined petroleum products (by 1.8 times), as well as growth in the production of wood and paper products, printing products (by 32.5%), food and tobacco products (by 22.6%), textile products and clothing (by 13.2%), rubber and plastic products (by 8.8%) and pharmaceutical products (by 5.9%).

"The growth rate of our economy is nothing short of encouraging. We are implementing the Leap of the Leopard programme and are approaching ambitious goals,’ Akylbek Zhaparov said.

The meeting considered 20 issues related to construction, health care, budget legislation and other areas.

The Cabinet approved a draft law on amending the Budget Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, and resolutions regulating the procedure for assessing the quality and safety of medical devices and the manufacture of medicines in pharmacies.

In addition, a decision was made to introduce a temporary ban on timber and timber product export from the country outside the Eurasian Economic Union and approved measures to develop urban planning documentation for settlements.
