11/05/2025, 16:49Today, 5 November, during his official visit to Egypt, President Sadyr Zhaparov held expanded talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
They discussed key areas of Kyrgyz-Egyptian cooperation, including the development of political dialogue, economic cooperation, investment and other issues of mutual interest.
The two heads of state expressed their satisfaction with the positive dynamics of bilateral relations and emphasised their readiness to give them new impetus.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi warmly welcomed President Sadyr Zhaparov, noting that Egypt attaches great importance to the development of friendly relations with Kyrgyzstan.
He emphasised Egypt's readiness to strengthen political dialogue and deepen practical cooperation in all mutually beneficial areas.
The Egyptian president expressed confidence that the Kyrgyz leader's visit would be an important step in the partnership between the two countries and would create a solid foundation for the implementation of joint initiatives.
In turn, President Sadyr Zhaparov noted that since independence, no president of Kyrgyzstan had ever visited the African continent.
President Sadyr Zhaparov highly appreciated Egypt's constructive role in the Middle East region and on the African continent.
He also said that in order to strengthen friendship and develop ties between the two countries, a decision had been made to open a Kyrgyz embassy in Cairo.
Agreements aimed at expanding cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Egypt in the trade, economic, investment, and scientific and technical spheres will be signed, and a decision has been made to establish an intergovernmental commission. Sadyr Zhaparov proposed holding its first meeting in Bishkek.
The President of Egypt supported this initiative.
President Sadyr Zhaparov highlighted the active cooperation between the two countries within international organisations, including the UN, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
Sadyr Zhaparov invited Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan and take part in the SCO summit, which will be held in Bishkek in autumn 2026, as well as in the VI World Nomad Games and events dedicated to the Independence Day of the Kyrgyz Republic.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed that there is enormous potential for the development of a mutually beneficial partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Egypt.
