This was announced by Nurdin Sambaev, head of the Transport Licensing and Technical Supervision Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, at a press conference in Kabar.
According to the department, a transition period will begin on 22 August, during which drivers will be able to obtain the necessary documents. The process must be completed by 1 December 2025. After this date, mass raids will begin.
The penalty for working without a licence will be 7,500 soms for individuals and 23,000 soms for legal entities.
Controls will be carried out through stationary posts, bus stations (for international transport), as well as joint raids with other government agencies.
Licensed taxis must undergo a technical inspection, and drivers must undergo a medical examination and a check of their driving experience. A sign with the carrier's details, the vehicle number and a photo of the driver will be displayed in the passenger compartment. A 24-hour WhatsApp number has been set up for passenger complaints.
