A striking example is farmer Tolubai Dzhalilov from the Batken region, who leased pasture land for 20 years and planted 4,500 apricot seedlings. He built a reservoir and introduced a drip irrigation system, and while the trees are not yet bearing fruit, he grows melons and vegetables, which provide a stable income.
The Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture sees this initiative as an opportunity not only to improve food security, but also to create new jobs and increase incomes in the regions by transforming low-yield land into efficient agricultural projects.
