The center was established as part of cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the university, and the GIZ program, with financial support from the governments of Germany, Switzerland, and the European Union.
The main objective of the new structure is to strengthen analytical and expert support for government agencies on sustainable development issues, as well as to conduct applied research and provide advice to businesses, NGOs, and international organizations. The Ministry of Economy sees the Center as an important platform for dialogue between the state, science, and the private sector, including for promoting green economy principles and improving the quality of economic policy in the country.
