01/04/2025, 11:56According to the results of the first half of 2024 in Kyrgyzstan, there is an increase in the loan portfolio of banks in almost all sectors of the economy. However, the only exception was the industrial sector, where the volume of lending decreased compared to the same period of 2023.
At the same time, the level of dollarisation of loans continued to decline, which indicates the growing popularity of loans in the national currency. According to the National Bank, the share of dollarised loans decreased by 0.6 percentage points to 21.1%.
In the structure of lending by maturity, the largest share falls on short-term loans - 38.8% or 64.6 billion KGS. Medium-term loans accounted for 32.4% of the total volume, equivalent to 53.9 billion KGS.
Decreased interest in loans in industry may indicate a slowdown in activity in this sector. However, other sectors such as trade and agriculture continue to show growth, supporting the overall positive trend in the bank lending market.
