The International Conference on PPP started in Kyrgyzstan

Today the Third International Conference on Public-Private Partnerships has started, which brought together representatives of different countries and international organisations.

The purpose of the meeting is to join efforts to solve important issues and create joint plans for infrastructure development, which includes roads, transport, energy and other important facilities.

First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliyev noted in his welcoming speech that the previous conferences showed excellent results, so interest in the event is growing. This year there are even more participants, which shows the high interest in projects in Kyrgyzstan and beyond.

"For successful development of the economy, cooperation between the state and business is important. In recent years, new public-private partnership (PPP) laws have been adopted in Kyrgyzstan to help attract private investment in large projects. This will make it possible to build new roads, schools, hospitals and other necessary facilities faster and more efficiently,’ he said.

In addition, Kasymaliyev noted the importance of transitioning to a green economy - that is, to types of development that do not harm the environment.

‘Kyrgyzstan has already begun taking steps in this direction, including measures to combat climate change and improve conditions for investment in environmentally friendly projects,’ the deputy chairman said.
