Solar power stations are being built and small hydropower plants are being revived in Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan is stepping up its transition to renewable energy sources. This year, investment agreements have been signed for the construction of three solar power stations and one wind farm. The total capacity of the projects is 1,000 MW.

At the same time, work is underway on the Orto-Tokoy reservoir, the Kara-Kul small hydropower plant, and the reconstruction of the Lebedinovskaya hydropower plant. Chakan GES OJSC is also preparing to build the Papanskaya hydropower plant, and consultants are being selected for the Nizhne-Tarskaia and Bystrovskaya hydropower plants as part of the KRED project.

In addition, in 2025, Chakan HPP plans to install 10 electric charging stations. This is a step towards developing infrastructure and reducing dependence on traditional fuels.
