According to Ulan Kadyraliev, the project is already at the final stage, and the total private investment is about 100 million KGS.
These funds have been invested in a historic building's renovation in the city centre, which has been in disrepair for more than 30 years. The renovated building will become a hub centre, where educational programmes, scientific research and business projects will be combined.
The main goal of the project is not only to improve conditions for students but also to promote innovation and commercialisation of science. In Kyrgyzstan, universities depend mainly on student contracts for 90 per cent of their income. Ulan Kadyraliev noted that it is necessary to develop scientific activity and entrepreneurship to make universities less dependent on contracts and increase their financial sustainability.
