01/13/2025, 11:23President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov signed the Law “On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic ‘On Protection of Entrepreneurs’ Rights” adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on December 4, 2024.
The document is aimed at supporting women's entrepreneurship, including increasing women's access to finance and creating conditions for increasing their employment in the economy.
The law introduces a definition of “women's entrepreneurship”, which means the activities of individual entrepreneurs and companies registered in Kyrgyzstan, where a woman (or a group of women) owns at least 51% of shares or participatory interests, and where more than half of the employees are women.
