252 new transformers are to be installed in Kyrgyzstan ahead of winter

Kyrgyzstan is set to install 252 new power transformers to increase the capacity of its electricity networks ahead of the autumn–winter period of 2026–2027. All the equipment has already been delivered to the country, and the work will be carried out by OJSC ‘National Electricity Grid of Kyrgyzstan’.

The transformers will be installed in areas with growing electricity consumption, new housing estates and settlements with high loads on the grid. They will also replace outdated equipment.

The modernisation is expected to reduce the risk of overloads and improve the reliability of the electricity supply during periods of peak consumption. The new transformers will have a service life of up to 25 years.
