According to the bank, if all the imported cars were lined up end-to-end, the convoy would stretch for over 650 kilometres – a distance comparable to that between Bishkek and Osh.
South Korea, China, the US and European countries remain the main suppliers of cars to Kyrgyzstan. At the same time, every transaction involving the purchase of a car abroad involves international money transfers.
The bank also pointed out that, in the past, small international transfers were often subject to high fees, which increased the costs of purchasing spare parts and components.
