Kyrgyzstan's labour market is short of more than 5,500 specialists

As of 1 January 2026, there were 5,547 job vacancies registered in Kyrgyzstan, according to the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration.

The greatest demand remains for blue-collar professions, with 4,251 vacancies. Sewers (1,850), drivers (1,000), cooks (420), sales agents (400), preschool and school teachers (350) and medical workers (320) are also in demand. Among other professions, there are vacancies for cashiers, accountants, lawyers, economists, managers, and IT specialists.

The official unemployment rate in the republic is 1.3%. There are 56,500 people registered with employment services, of whom 38,100 are registered as unemployed. In 2025, 17,454 people were employed with the assistance of employment services.

According to the National Statistics Committee, the average salary by sector is as follows:

  • Financial sector — 67,121 KGS;
  • Industry — 66,990 KGS;
  • Transport — 58,657 KGS;
  • Construction — 57,472 KGS;
  • Trade — 47,125 KGS;
  • Agriculture — 33,462 KGS;
  • Services — 29,679 KGS;
  • Healthcare and social services — 28,082 KGS;
  • Education — 27,054 KGS;
  • Culture — 24,861 KGS.
