State regulation of coal prices extended in Kyrgyzstan

Temporary state regulation of coal prices in Kyrgyzstan has been extended until February 15 this year. The corresponding decision was made on the basis of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers and the order of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, reports the Antimonopoly Service.

In this regard, the Antimonopoly Service set maximum coal prices for different regions of the country. In particular, in Bishkek, the retail price of a ton of packaged solid fuel of Kara-Keche brand varies from 5.5 thousand soms for coal mined by SE Kyrgyzkomur to 6 thousand soms for selected coal sold by individual entrepreneurs.

Prices for solid fuel depend on the region, distance of delivery and method of extraction. In some oblasts, such as Osh and Issyk-Kul, the cost of locally produced coal ranges from 6.3 thousand to 10.5 thousand KGS per ton.

“Monitoring of coal prices will continue on a daily basis, and in case of violations of the order of state regulation, appropriate measures will be taken,” the Antimonopoly Service emphasizes.
