Demand for Skilled Labor Positions Persists in Kyrgyzstan's Job Market

Minister of Labour, Social Security and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic Ravshanbek Sabirov, speaking at the consultative meeting entitled "Analysis of the needs of the labour market of the Kyrgyz Republic", stressed the importance of employment and employment issues in the state economic policy.

He noted that President Sadyr Zhaparov pays special attention to the development of the labour market, suggesting that the Cabinet of Ministers initiate actions to stimulate this sector. The development of the labour market promotes economic activity, supporting the demand for highly qualified specialists.

At present, the country is experiencing low labour productivity and insufficient diversification of the economy, especially in the regions. In less economically developed regions there is a high demand for labour specialties, while economically active regions need highly specialised specialists.

The study showed a clear need for skilled workers, especially in garment manufacturing, industry, logistics and services. In construction, specialists such as engineers, welders, excavator operators, steel and reinforced concrete erectors, as well as technical fitters for vehicle maintenance and repair, architects and others are in demand. At the same time, there is a surplus of economists, accountants, lawyers and civil servants in some regions.

The main purpose of the consultative meeting was to discuss tips for the development of the labour market in the republic. Based on the results of the study, a report will be prepared for the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
