The assessment was conducted as part of the Education for the Future project implemented by the World Bank in 1,200 target schools across the country. The aim of the study was to measure the impact of the project on the learning process.
The NOP (Educational Practice Observation) tool enabled a comprehensive analysis of lesson quality, assessing four key areas: the educational environment, classroom organisation, teaching and student assessment.
The study was conducted in two phases: April–May 2023 (baseline assessment) and November–December 2024 (final assessment).
A total of 120 experimental schools participating in the project and 120 control schools were selected for observation. Two classes were observed in each institution, one in primary school and one in secondary school. Mathematics and natural sciences were prioritised subjects.
Forty-four observers took part in the study, all of whom were experienced teachers and methodologists who had undergone special training and certification. A total of 480 lessons were observed, of which 403 were re-evaluated in the second stage, ensuring 84% coverage.
