Two irrigation canals rehabilitation has been completed in the Talas region

Rehabilitation of two irrigation canals - Kyzyl-Zhar and Zhalpaktil - has been completed in the Bakai-Ata district of Talas province. These canals, respectively, were built in 1951 and 1957 and have a length of 11.88 km and 13.7 km with a capacity of 2.0 m³/sec and 1.5 m³/sec. The press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry reports this.

After the rehabilitation of the canals, irrigation of 15,694 hectares of land was improved, which contributed to solving the issues of providing irrigation water for crops for the residents of Aknazarov, Birimdik and Bakai-Ata aiyl okmotu.

During the works, repair, concreting and mechanical cleaning works were carried out on the canals. Two gauging stations and two road bridges were also constructed, which will significantly improve the irrigation efficiency in the region.
