A canal has been renovated and recommissioned in the Toktogul District

The rehabilitation of the 13-kilometre-long ‘Bokonbay’ canal in the Toktogul District has been completed, and the facility has been put into operation.

Over the course of a year, the ‘Baimuras’ agricultural cooperative carried out restoration work along the entire length of the canal. Spring field work is currently in full swing, with around 400 hectares of arable land being sown.

According to the cooperative’s director, Ruslan Kasymaliev, an experimental rice sowing programme is planned for the first time in the Toktogul district: five varieties will be planted across an area of 10 hectares.

The Toktogul District Department of Agricultural Development of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry assisted in processing the paperwork for the establishment of the cooperative.
