The «Zhibek Zholu» market has opened in the centre of Osh

The new «Zhibek Zholu» market, designed to accommodate 1,400 trading stalls, has opened in the centre of Osh.

According to Osh City Council, the first traders to move to the new market were those who had previously rented stalls at the old ‘Kelechik’ market. In addition, the complex houses four further hangars, to which carpet and furniture traders from Osh Street, as well as sellers of building materials from the market in the Sheyit-Dobo district, have been relocated.

There are also around 11 catering outlets operating within the market. Beauty salons, clothes shops and other retail and service outlets have opened here.

The opening ceremony was attended by the deputy mayors of Osh, the chairman of the city council, Bolot Baetov, business representatives and local residents.
