08/21/2025, 12:52The illegal alteration of the course of the Barskooon River has been uncovered, causing damage to the state amounting to more than 2.5 million KGS. This was reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision.
According to the ministry, based on a statement submitted by T.K.Sh., a resident of the village of Barskooon in the Jeti-Oguz district, the environmental and technical supervision service conducted an unscheduled inspection of the Barskooon aiyl okmotu.
During the inspection, it was found that on contour No. 15 of the Barskoon aiyl aiymak, there was a case of artificial alteration of the bed of the Barskoon River, which flows into Lake Issyk-Kul. This area is part of a water protection zone and covers an area of 1,600 square metres.
Significant damage was caused to the state. The damage to the soil cover amounted to 1 million 568 thousand 980 KGS, and the damage caused by the destruction of the sea buckthorn grove amounted to 941 thousand 103.36 KGS.
