“The authorities have created all the conditions for ‘the people to choose the candidate themselves,’” Sadyr Zhaparov

Today, September 30, President Sadyr Zhaparov addressed the nation, announcing the scheduling of new parliamentary elections.

According to him, in connection with the decision of the Jogorku Kenesh to dissolve itself, he signed a decree on holding elections for deputies of the 8th convocation of parliament. Voting will take place on November 30, 2025.

The head of state thanked the deputies for their initiative, noting that their decision was dictated by concern for the long-term stability of the country.

“You have proven yourselves to be statesmen, thinking at the state level,” he said, stressing that the coincidence of election dates every five years could create risks for political stability.

The president also drew attention to the achievements of recent years — the digitization of the electoral process, the elimination of the human factor, and the ensuring of voting transparency.

“Now, when the results are tallied, there will be no influence from the authorities. The votes will be counted by a computer, and the results will be announced immediately,” said Zhaparov, adding that Kyrgyzstan is the only CIS country with such a system.

He called on citizens to take a responsible approach to the upcoming elections: “Vote for worthy candidates. Do not sell your votes, do not give in to populists. A deputy should be a representative of the people, not a person working for himself.”

“We, the government, have created all the conditions for ‘the people to choose the candidate themselves’. Now it is up to you to choose wisely and then vote,” Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized.

Separately, the head of state warned civil servants, teachers, and doctors not to interfere in the election process.

“Any interference will result not only in dismissal, but also in severe punishment,” he noted.

Zaparov stressed that the elections will be under his personal control and should be “the most transparent and fair in the country's history.”
