The issue of the Antimonopoly Service's future will be looked at soon

The Minister of Justice and Director of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, Ayaz Baitov, said that the issue of the Antimonopoly Service's future will be looked at soon.

«They woke up and came up with their decisions. But my personal opinion is that the Ministry of Economy already has territorial divisions of the Antimonopoly Service. The question arises: is it necessary to maintain a separate service? This issue will be considered today», — said Ayaz Baetov.

Earlier, he noted that the Antimonopoly Service is effectively limited in its tools: in practice, it only monitors the market but does not regulate it.

«This is a typical situation where a government agency has tasks but no authority. This raises the question of whether to give it real tools or to eliminate it and merge it with other agencies, such as the Ministry of Economy», — the minister emphasised.
