11/26/2024, 18:10From 26 November 2024, amendments to the Eurasian Economic Union's technical regulations ‘On the Safety of Toys’ will come into force. These amendments clarify which goods are not considered toys, such as souvenirs, computer games and plant growing kits. New terms such as ‘trampoline for home’, ‘outdoor toy’, ‘rattle’ and others have also been added to make the rules easier to apply.
Requirements for chemical content in toys, especially in sets with chemical components, have been updated and hygiene safety rules have been strengthened. In addition, clarification has been introduced on warning labels and safety measures for toys that may be dangerous.
A transition period has been established for manufacturers: certificates issued before 26 November 2024 remain valid until their expiry date. Toys produced or placed on the market with such certificates can be sold as long as their useful life or expiry date is valid.
