Kyrgyzstan's GDP for 2024 turned out to be almost 60 billion KGS higher than preliminary data

The National Statistics Committee has published revised calculations for gross domestic product in 2024. The final figures are higher than the preliminary ones. The country's economy produced around 1.6 trillion KGS, which is 59.6 billion KGS more than the previously announced estimate.

According to the updated calculations, real GDP growth was 11.5%, while in the preliminary data it was 9%. Several key sectors contributed to the acceleration of growth:

  • services — growth of 9.8% (compared to 9.3% in the preliminary estimate);
  • commodity production — growth of 12.7% (compared to 8.5%);
  • taxes on products — growth of 14.7% (compared to 9.2%).

The structure of GDP remained virtually unchanged, with only minor adjustments. Services accounted for 52.3% of GDP (0.2 percentage points higher than preliminary data), while commodity production accounted for 33.3% (0.1 percentage points lower).

Within sectors:

  • industry — 17% of GDP (+0.5 percentage points);
  • construction — 7.7% of GDP (–0.6 p.p.);
  • agriculture — 8.6% (unchanged).

The National Statistics Committee explains that the revised calculations are based on the full volume of annual reports from enterprises received after the end of the calendar year. It was the additional data on industry, construction, trade, and taxes that led to an increase in the final GDP figure.

Thus, Kyrgyzstan's economy grew faster than expected in 2024, and the updated figures show higher activity in both manufacturing and the service sector.
