As of March 31, there were 24 commercial banks and 306 branches operating in the country.
The total assets of commercial banks have increased by 23% since the beginning of the year, reaching 1.49 trillion KGS as of March 31. For comparison, this figure stood at 1.21 trillion KGS at the end of 2025. Over the three-month period, bank assets grew by more than 278 billion KGS.
Against the backdrop of the banking sector’s growth, new players are entering the market. By mid-May, the number of banks had risen to a record 26 following the issuance of licenses to new market participants—Kylim Bank and Muras Bank.
