09/27/2024, 11:28Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobayev met with Zhang Jianhua, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Capital Utilization of China.
He noted that the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan project is not just another infrastructure project, but a strategic step that will open new horizons for the economic development of our countries and the entire region.
"The railroad is a breakthrough for the whole of Central Asia. It will boost trade, attract investment and create new jobs, and improve the living standards of the population in the region,” Bakyt Torobayev said.
Let us recall that the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in promoting this project was signed in Beijing on June 6, 2024. Then on July 26, 2024, a joint project company LLC “China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway Company” was registered, which was an important step towards the plans' implementation.
"We understand that implementing such a large-scale project demands not only financial investment but also close cooperation between all stakeholders. It is important that each participating country feels its involvement in this process and can contribute to the common cause. We are ready to work on creating favourable conditions for investors and ensuring transparency at all stages of the project realization,” Bakyt Torobaev concluded.
