Zapadny RPS will replace about 60 kilometres of power lines with modern CIPs

In order to prepare the power grid equipment for the upcoming winter season 2025-2026, the Western RES of Bishkek Electric Networks Enterprise, a branch of NESK, according to the capital construction plan, will replace 38 transformers.

Power engineers will overhaul 131 transformer substations, repair more than 24 kilometres of overhead power lines, as well as reconstruct 2 thousand 838 metres of cable lines.

To improve the reliability of power supply, the Western District of Power Grids is replacing old aluminium wires with new CIP-2 wires. Of the 60 kilometres planned for this year, specialists have replaced about 16.5 kilometres of overhead power lines with modern CIP-2 wires.

To date, the personnel have overhauled 38 transformer substations, repaired about 4 kilometres of overhead power lines and reconstructed more than 200 metres of cable lines.

Power engineers also perform maintenance of 794 units of transformer substations and 767.4 kilometres of overhead lines.

During the works, the personnel clean contact connections, tighten bolted connections, refill oil, and apply dispatch names.

These works are carried out to provide consumers with quality electricity and prevent power outages.

Power engineers make annual preparations from 1 March to 1 November to successfully pass the upcoming autumn and winter period. In 2024, Zapadny RPS carried out major repairs at 125 transformer substations and maintenance of 796 transformers.
