Zaparov proposed the creation of a single e-commerce platform for the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan

The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zaparov, proposed the creation of a single e-commerce platform for Central Asia and Azerbaijan. He made this announcement on 8 October at the eighth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the region and Azerbaijan at the Avaza complex.

According to the President, the platform should expand access for businesses and consumers to regional products and create additional opportunities for their promotion.

Japarov noted that the development of e-commerce would require appropriate logistical infrastructure — delivery, warehousing, customs clearance and the tracking of goods. Kyrgyzstan is prepared to engage specialists from the High-Tech Park to implement the initiative.

The Head of State identified industrial cooperation as another priority. He proposed identifying specific joint projects in agricultural processing, light industry, the production of building materials and logistics, specifying the participants, sources of funding and implementation timelines.

Separately, Zaparov emphasised the importance of the region’s transport connectivity. In particular, he highlighted the construction of the ‘China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan’ railway as a project that could expand the region’s countries’ participation in international transport and industrial links.

The President noted that the development of transport routes should result in lower delivery costs and reduced journey times.

The meeting also discussed the development of a shared tourism area and the conservation of glaciers and mountain ecosystems. Zhaparov proposed promoting the region as a single tourist destination based on the principle of ‘one trip – several countries’.
