08/23/2026, 11:47A meeting took place at DEPO-2 between the Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliyev, and the minibus drivers who will be involved in providing transport for the 6th World Nomad Games.
As part of the preparations for this international sporting event, the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure of Bishkek City Council will deploy 300 minibuses. These will provide free transport for residents and visitors to the Kyrchyn Gorge.
Transport services will be organised along three main routes:
All minibuses will undergo the necessary technical preparation and will be brought into line with the established requirements. Drivers will also receive appropriate training and briefings.
In addition, 15 reserve vehicles with drivers have been provided to promptly replace any faulty minibuses and ensure uninterrupted service.
The Department of Transport will coordinate all services involved, including specialists in drug rehabilitation and psychological support, as well as overseeing the organisation of transport.
Addressing the drivers, the Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Dzhunushaliev, emphasised that participation in providing transport for the events is voluntary.
The head of the capital also stressed that all expenses associated with drivers’ participation in transport operations.
“All expenses on the part of the city council will be covered. The necessary arrangements must be made for each driver – accommodation, meals and technical support in the event of a vehicle breakdown,” said the mayor.
Following the meeting, the city’s mayor, Aibek Dzhunushaliyev, urged the drivers to approach their upcoming work responsibly and to ensure a high standard of service for residents and visitors to the country.
