02/27/2026, 16:23The results of the social sector's work for 2025 were discussed at a republican meeting chaired by the president. Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov noted the increase in funding for education, healthcare and social protection.
According to him, in 2025, 75.3 billion KGS were allocated to education, an increase of 85% compared to 2021.
Fifty-one per cent of children gained access to preschool education, 117 schools were built and renovated, and more than 41,000 teachers improved their qualifications. Five of the country's leading universities entered the world rankings, and 52 students are studying abroad on the El Umutu international scholarship.
Healthcare funding has increased to 51.9 billion KGS. In 2025, the construction of 10 new facilities was completed, and the construction of 32 large institutions is continuing. Approximately 1 billion KGS has been allocated for additional payments to doctors in the regions. Twenty-six organ transplants have been performed in the country, and funding for expensive medicines has increased 14-fold.
Social protection and employment have also shown positive dynamics. The average monthly salary reached 44,419 KGS, payments under the Social Contract project increased from 100,000 KGS to 150,000 KGS, and each orphaned child receives 500,000 KGS upon reaching the age of 18. In 2025, accounts were opened for 3,378 children, to which 684 million KGS were transferred. Social services in the regions received 103 new vehicles.
The development of culture, sports and tourism was also actively supported: 851 million KGS were allocated to cultural institutions, funding for sports increased from 953 million KGS to 2.6 billion KGS, and the gross value added of the tourism industry reached 74.4 billion KGS, an increase of 29% over the year. Funding for youth policy increased from 4 million KGS to 50 million KGS, and theatre and entertainment institutions received a record 155 million KGS from paid services.
