02/10/2026, 20:05President Sadyr Zhaparov signed a decree appointing Abdykarim Alimbayev as chairman of the newly created State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic.
It should be noted that the Border Service was previously part of the State Committee for National Security, but was recently removed from the committee's structure and transformed into a separate body reporting directly to the president. The new service is responsible for protecting state borders and coordinating border activities within the framework of national security.
The Cabinet of Ministers is obliged to bring its decisions into line with the new decree, which came into force upon its official publication.
