Osh Airport is being expanded: the new terminal is designed to handle 900 passengers per hour

Construction of a new terminal complex is underway at Osh International Airport. The project aims to increase the airport’s capacity and create modern infrastructure for passengers.

A time capsule was laid in the foundations of the new complex on 14 February 2025, in the presence of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov.

The total area of the building will be 25,443 square metres. The complex will consist of six blocks, two storeys and a basement.

The new terminal is designed to handle over 5 million passengers a year and up to 900 passengers an hour.

The complex will feature modern check-in areas, a spacious waiting lounge, a food court, relaxation areas and a car park with space for 650 vehicles.

The project was developed by the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture. The state-owned enterprise ‘Kyrgyzkurulush’ is acting as the main contractor.

Osh International Airport was built in 1974.
