NPP in Kazakhstan is to be. 71.12% of Kazakhstanis voted ‘’yes‘’

Kazakhstan's Central Election Commission (CEC) has presented preliminary voting results in a referendum on a nuclear power plant (NPP) construction.  As of the morning of October 7, 5.6 million citizens voted for a nuclear power plant construction, while 2.4 million voted against it.

Thus, 71.12% of the referendum participants supported the project, while 28.88% were against it.

A total of 7.8 million people attended the vote, which makes 63.66% of the total number of citizens eligible to participate in the referendum.
