10/18/2024, 08:03At the Cabinet regular meeting dedicated to the country's socio-economic development results for nine months, the Head of the Cabinet Akylbek Zhaparov positively assessed the economic growth rate in the country.
He shared that the GDP growth rate in the period under review was 8.4%, excluding enterprises for the Kumtor deposit development - 9.7%. The growth rate of gross construction output was 36.9%.
The growth of industrial production compared to January - September 2023 was provided by the increase in the production of refined petroleum products (by 1.8 times), wood and paper products, printing activities (by 32.5%), food (including beverages) and tobacco products (by 22.6%), in textile production, clothing production (by 13.2%), rubber, plastic products and construction materials (by 8.8%), as well as pharmaceutical products (by 5.9%).
"The growth rate of our economy is nothing short of encouraging. We are implementing the programme ‘Leap of the Leopard’ and are approaching the set ambitious goals and objectives,’ Akylbek Zhaparov said.
The meeting also considered 20 issues in construction, health care, budget legislation and other areas. In particular, the Cabinet approved the draft law on amending the Budget Code, adopted a resolution on approving the procedure for assessing the quality and safety of medical devices and a resolution on the order of manufacturing medicines in pharmacies.
In addition, the Cabinet adopted decisions on introducing a temporary ban on exporting timber and timber products from Kyrgyzstan outside the customs territory of the EAEU and measures to develop urban planning documentation of the country's settlements.
