08/25/2026, 11:54On 24 August, commercial banks in Kyrgyzstan concluded dollar-denominated transactions totalling $20.85 million. Compared with the previous trading day, the volume of transactions rose by $4.25 million, or 25.6 per cent.
According to data from the National Bank, $18.1 million of the total trading volume consisted of transactions settled on the day the deal was concluded. A further $2.75 million comprised transactions settled on a different date.
By way of comparison, on 21 August the total volume of interbank foreign exchange transactions stood at $16.6 million. Of this, same-day settlement transactions amounted to $12 million, whilst those settled on a different date totalled $4.6 million.
Thus, the volume of same-day transactions rose by 50.8 per cent. At the same time, the volume of transactions settled on a different date fell by 40.2 per cent.
Despite the increase in turnover, the value of the dollar remained unchanged. Trading on 24 August opened and closed at 87.45 KGS.
