11/14/2025, 09:55A meeting was held at the Ministry of Labor between Minister Kanat Sagybaev and Hugh Riddell, President of the World Bank Office in Kyrgyzstan. Against the backdrop of the country's economic growth of approximately 9% per year and a reduction in poverty from 25% to 20%, the parties discussed key areas of social policy.
A joint project is currently being implemented to strengthen social assistance programs and the labor market: emergency support for participants in the Ui-bulogo komok program, development of a social contract, a pilot youth internship program, and the creation of a register of labor migrants. These initiatives are aimed at improving the targeting and effectiveness of support systems.
The World Bank is preparing new financing projects and expects the government to develop a unified strategy for the social sector. The parties confirmed their readiness to expand cooperation to improve the quality of social services and protect vulnerable citizens.
