The main focus was not merely on welcoming guests, but on effectively distributing tourist flows across the country.
The Department of Physical Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth Affairs of the capital’s city administration held a working meeting with representatives of the tourism industry. The discussion was attended by the department’s director, Kanatbek Mamatov, his deputy, Rustam Alisherov, as well as leading tour operators.
The main topic was reducing the burden on Bishkek, which traditionally serves as the main tourist attraction. Authorities and the business community are discussing a scenario in which a significant portion of visitors would be directed to the regions—Issyk-Kul, Naryn, Osh, and other tourist destinations.
This involves not only logistics but also the redesign of the tourism product. Tour operators have been asked to develop regional itineraries in advance so that the distribution of tourist flows is managed rather than spontaneous.
This approach will address several objectives at once:
Special attention was paid to coordination between the government and the private sector. Tour operators will be the key link in managing tourist flows—from tour planning to group distribution. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to collaborate in preparation for major international events.
Representatives from more than a dozen travel companies participated in the discussion, including di_travel_kg, Cruiser_312, Kapriz Travel, Ulush Travel, XTRAVEL, Kyrgyz Guided Tours, and others.
