Over 13,700 applications in a single day: applications for the ‘Bala Yrysy’ allowance have opened in Kyrgyzstan

In Kyrgyzstan, over 14,300 applications were received in the first 24 hours for the new ‘Bala Yrysy’ monthly allowance for children under three years of age. Of these, 13,782 applications (96.2 per cent) have already been accepted for consideration, according to the Ministry of Labour.

The application process began on 1 July 2026 as part of a presidential decree introducing a monthly allowance for children under three years of age. The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Labour in collaboration with OJSC ‘Tunduk’.

The majority of applications – 12,205 (89%) – were submitted via a mobile app. A further 1,577 applications (11 per cent) were submitted on paper. The Ministry notes that staff at regional offices assisted citizens in submitting their applications online.

However, 536 applications (4 per cent) were not accepted. The main reason was discrepancies in data within state information systems.

Based on an allowance of 1,200 KGS per child, the monthly cost to the budget from the applications already accepted on the first day alone could amount to around 16.5 million KGS.

On an annual basis, this exceeds 198 million KGS, provided that payments continue and all applications are approved.
