    More than 60% of Kyrgyzstan's financial companies made a profit in the first half of the year

    The customer base of financial institutions in Kyrgyzstan increased by almost 5 million accounts to 19.6 million, according to the National Statistics Committee.

    The growth was driven by the active connection of bank customers to mobile banking and an increase in the number of contracts in the insurance sector.

    The financial sector's revenues for January–June exceeded 104 billion KGS, an increase of 44% compared to the same period in 2024. The main growth was provided by the National Bank, whose revenues increased 3.5 times, and commercial banks, which grew by 21%. More than 60% of enterprises made a profit, and the net financial result reached almost 39 billion KGS, which is twice as much as in the first half of 2024.

    The volume of the open loan portfolio of banks and non-banking organizations as of July 1, 2025, exceeded 476 billion KGS. The banking sector accounted for 87.6% of loans, while the non-banking sector accounted for 12.4%. The main areas of lending were consumer needs (34%), trade (24%), agriculture (about 13%), and mortgages (10.3%).

    In the first half of 2025, the financial sector of Kyrgyzstan continued to grow in terms of activity and income. A total of 554 organizations were operating, including the National Bank, 21 commercial banks, 514 non-bank financial and credit institutions, and 18 insurance companies. The number of employees in the sector exceeded 30,000.
