Three projects and eight initiatives have been launched through the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund

The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, announced the launch of three joint projects and the start of eight new initiatives as part of the activities of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund. He made this announcement following talks with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in Cholpon-Ata.

According to Zaparov, the parties discussed the development of trade and economic cooperation, investment projects, transport corridors, the energy sector and the fund’s activities. The President noted the steady growth in bilateral trade and emphasised the need to create conditions for expanding business ties between the two countries.

Furthermore, following the talks, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan signed a Treaty on Allied Relations, as well as a package of documents in the fields of energy, transport, cyber security, education, the financial market and the trade in precious metals. The parties paid particular attention to Azerbaijan’s role in the development of the Middle Corridor, which connects Central Asia with European markets.

Zaparov also noted the opening of the first five-star hotel on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul, built by the Azerbaijani side, describing the project as a contribution to the development of Kyrgyzstan’s tourism potential.
