Clean water and smart solutions: Kyrgyzstan trains digital specialists

In Bishkek, 82 specialists received certificates of advanced training in water supply. The program, organized by ARIS with the support of the Cabinet of Ministers and the relevant ministry, was not just a series of lectures, but an attempt to systematically update the very approach to water supply in rural areas.

Over two weeks, participants received training in 10 areas, ranging from engineering calculations and laboratory analysis to digital monitoring and water resource management. The educational process included field trips to enterprises, online lectures by international experts, and practical training using modern equipment.

This hybrid format, focused on international standards, is rare for specialized courses in the region. The program not only answers the question of “how to fix pipes,” but also addresses the challenges of our time: staff shortages, aging infrastructure, and climate risks.

Graduates will become a link between policy and real needs on the ground, from sustainable management to clean water in every home. This is a step toward turning “people at pumping stations” into professionals who manage entire water supply systems.
